Floodwater can leave behind mud, sediment, contaminated water, and moisture that affects floors, drywall, insulation, and personal belongings. Proper cleanup helps stabilize the property and prevent further damage.
What the Job Involves
The affected areas are inspected for standing water, contamination, and damaged materials. Floodwater and debris are removed, salvageable areas are cleaned and disinfected when needed, and the structure is dried.
Signs You Need It
- Standing or contaminated floodwater
- Mud and sediment indoors
- Wet carpet or flooring
- Damaged drywall or insulation
- Musty or sewage odors
- Water-damaged contents
How the Work Goes
Standing water is extracted first, followed by removal of mud, debris, and unsalvageable materials. Moisture readings are taken throughout the affected areas. Air movers and dehumidifiers are used to dry salvageable structural materials, while contaminated surfaces are cleaned and disinfected.
What Affects the Cost
Cost depends on the amount and depth of floodwater, contamination level, affected square footage, damaged materials, debris removal, and drying requirements. Severe flooding may require extensive material removal and cleaning.
